    Offline Reads

Offline Reads lets you save links as articles that can be read with or without an internet connection. When you save a link for offline reading, CarryLinks downloads and stores the content locally on your device. This feature works on the website, extension, and progressive web app. Once saved, the link becomes an “offline article” and is available in your Offline Reads section.

Yes, you can save offline articles from any device — whether it is a phone, tablet, laptop, or any browser using the website, extension, or progressive web app. However, each article is saved locally on the device where it was added. Offline articles do not sync across devices, so if you want the same article available offline on another device, you will need to save it again from that device.

Free users can save up to 10 articles per browser and per device. Premium users can save an unlimited number of articles on any browser or device.

Right-click on any link and select "Read Offline" from the menu.

In addition, the extension allows you to save the current webpage you are visiting for offline reading; there is no need to bookmark the webpage. Click the "More" button and select "Read Offline."

With offline articles, you are able to:

    • Read the article without ads and visual distractions with support for light, dark and auto modes
    • Listen to the article by clicking the play button; you can also pause or stop
    • Increase and decrease the font size
    • Print the article
    • Sort your saved articles by title, longest, shortest, oldest, newest, webpage, and language
    • Search through your offline articles
    • Delete articles

To view offline articles while online:

    • On the website/app: Go to the User Page, click the Tools button, select View Links, then choose View Offline Articles.
    • From the extension: Click the arrow icon, then select View Offline Reads.

While offline, just open CarryLinks website, app or extension. Your saved articles will appear automatically.

Yes. Offline articles are stored locally in your browser. If the storage of your browser is almost full (90% or more), CarryLinks will notify you and show the percentage of remaining space available for offline articles.

To free up space, you can delete older articles and make room for new ones.

Go to the Offline Reads section, check the box next to each article you want to remove, and click Delete. You can select multiple articles to delete them in bulk. This will immediately free up storage space on your device.

Also, you can delete the article you are viewing by clicking the delete button in the top navigation bar.

By default, if you are logged out and not connected to the internet, your saved offline articles will still appear when you open CarryLinks or visit the offline page directly.

If you do not want your offline articles to remain on the device after logging out, you can enable an option to automatically delete them on log out. To do so, go to Settings > Preferences > Offline Reads and turn on "Delete offline articles on logout."

This setting affects only offline articles. Your saved bookmarks will remain safe, private and unchanged.

Offline articles are saved based on the CarryLinks subdomain (language version) you were using when you saved them — for example, carrylinks.com (English), ar.carrylinks.com (Arabic), fr.carrylinks.com (French), es.carrylinks.com (Spanish), or de.carrylinks.com (German), etc. If you switch to a different language or subdomain, your previously saved offline articles will not appear because they are stored separately for each subdomain.
